You'll never believe it, but I got my first driving lesson today! What fun. I reckon it would be so good if I could drive myself to the park, rather than have to wait for Neil or Kay to get organised.

To all you other Airedales out there, I must say that it is a bit trickier than you might think. Not having opposable thumbs is a real disadvantage.

Here we go!
Nearly ran Neil over when I got the stop and go pedals mixed up... so much to remember!
Kay says that it gets easier with practice.

Today we went out to practice my jumping and weaving poles. I've started learning agility lately, it's way more fun than obedience - but Kay says I need to do both.

To tell you the truth, I find those weave poles a bit baffling... but jumping things is easy peasy.

I got to play with my new Christmas ball on a rope - that was good. It has a little bell in the middle which makes things even more exciting. I'll chew that out tomorrow, I think.

Neil took some videos of me - first doing two little jumps and some weave poles and then one of me doing a big, wide jump. They are slowed down a bit so you can appreciate how well I do them - otherwise, I'm just a flash of fur going past!

Well, we had a jolly Christmas here. Got to open our presents in bed - and for me, that meant actually getting on the bed! There was some mention about my recent bath meaning that that was okay for today.

I got a bunch of toys, most got destroyed in the next five minutes, but that's the fun of Christmas, isn't it.

My favourite was a new frisbee. This one is very lightweight and soft to catch.

I'm going to try to learn to be an Air Dog, so I needed a few more frisbees to keep the action going.

Neil isn't so sure that having me jump on his back to catch a frisbee is such a good idea... I'm sure he'll be more enthusiastic once we have practiced a few times... and I get my claws clipped.

Anyway, hope everyone else had a happy day like me.

I spent two weeks at the beach recently. It was at Arakoon, just outside of South West Rocks on the east coast of Australia.

The beaches are just divine... and hardly anyone is there. We have the place to ourselves most of the time. Sometimes I meet up with my good friend Gibson, but usually it's just me and the seagulls!

I love a run on the beach, a swim ( if the surf isn't too rough) and of course a good dig in the sand. Digging is quite good for building up the shoulders, you know.

Airedales are fearless, but not stupid. When I was a young pup, I got seriously tumbled by a big wave crashing on the beach. That made me very cautious about swimming out past the breakers. Now I carefully choose my moment to swim out and fetch the frisbee (or stick, or ball, or Neil, if he insists on going out too far).

I love the beach.
